South Bay Music Connection (SBMC), is an award winning non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting young talented musicians in our community. SBMC is a driving force in fostering the creative minds of teens and young adults. We believe that by providing an inclusive environment for these musicians, we can help them grow both personally and socially, and by using their music they can interact with the community and make meaningful connections.
One of our key objectives is to bring music to the community, contributing to the cultural enrichment of our society. We have witnessed firsthand the positive impact that music can have on individuals and believe that it is crucial to nurture this art form. Additionally, by supporting young musicians, we enable them to gain earning potential and move closer to their goals in life, while also contributing to the local economy.
Starting in 2018 we have had the pleasure of putting many of these musicians in front of audiences of thousands of people. We consistently work with local governments and businesses to share our love of music with not only the musicians but with the community. It has been our honor to work with:
Manhattan Beach Concerts in the Park

Studies have shown:
Music helps adolescents release or control emotions and aids in coping with difficult situations such as peer pressure, substance abuse, pressures of study and family, the dynamics of friendships and social life, and the pain of loss or abuse. Especially now that Covid-19 has created so much more stress and anxiety for teens and young adults.
Playing music teaches self-discipline that can be generalized to other aspects of development.
Learning and playing music helps with music literacy, listening skills, motor ability, eye-hand coordination, heightened intellectual capabilities and many other essential executive functioning skills.
Playing music diminishes boundaries between people of different ethnic backgrounds, age groups and social interests.
Making music provides the freedom for teens to be their authentic selves; to be different; to be something they thought they could never be; to be comfortable and relaxed in society, including in school and elsewhere in their lives.
