South Bay Music Connection is the reason Ive fallen in love with gigging today. When they invited me to play at Teen Tuesday for the first time I was really nervous because I could count the times I performed by myself with an acoustic guitar on one hand, but once I had finished my set I was hooked! Because of the opportunities South Bay Music Connection provides, I have become a much more present, collected and confident performer.
SBMC has been a transformative force in the lives of my daughter, her bandmates, and our family. SBMC has not only provided a platform for young artists to showcase their talents but has also instilled values of kindness, teamwork, and pride in all its endeavors.Through SBMC, my daughter and her bandmates have had the opportunity to develop their musical skills and pursue their passion with guidance and support. The organization's commitment to fostering a sense of community and collaboration has not only enriched their musical journey but also enhanced their interpersonal skills and self-esteem.What sets SBMC apart is its dedication to not only nurturing talent but also creating a space where individuals can thrive creatively while learning the importance of working together towards a common goal. The experiences and connections we've made through SBMC have been invaluable, and I am forever grateful for the positive impact it has had on our lives. Thank you for giving Lynn such a wonderful opportunity to perform tonight at the Redondo Beach beautiful bar. She’s very grateful and learned a lot. Though she was nervous at first, she’s now inspired to practice more guitar, singing, and performing to captivate the audience further. Project Barley and South Bay Music Connection (SBMC) have had a collaborative and enjoyed partnership since 2021. Project Barley is a Brewery, Tap Room, Dining and Music venue with 3 locations in the South Bay. Music is an integral part of our business and vibe using the slogan “Support Local Music” in all our venues. SBMC, with their promotion and support of local youth talent has been the perfect partner with the same goals in mind, supporting local youths in their personal, professional and musical journey. Currently SMBC curates an event line up for a co-promoted and supported weekly TEEN TUESDAY JAM, where 6 artists are selected to perform live on one of our stages, each for a 30 minute performance. Meeting, interacting, mentoring and enjoying the performances of each of these amazingly courageous youths let’s me know that music is in good hands. Watching each of these performers grow into young adults and artists is truly one of my favorite parts of my role in this partnership. I am very thankful that SBMC is here in our local community to give these youths a place to spread their wings and that we are one of the many supporters of their cause. I would recommend any youth artist that is looking for guidance, directions, mentorship and support that they too become a part of this great non-profit organization. The SBMC has been so amazing in my journey becoming a professional musician and artist! Before I had a long set, and much practice performing, the SMBC was key in helping me finally get out there playing shows. They were great in helping myself and many other upcoming artists get comfortable on stage, were great with sound, and regularly held events where we were all able to perform! In a world where young artists get doors in their face when wanting to start performing, it can be very discouraging. the SMBC, after seeing me on Instagram and an open mic, began to include me with their events and really was so helpful in establishing myself. I am forever grateful, and support the SBMC!
I joined South Bay Music Connection about 3 years ago and it has been a huge help with my music journey! I don’t think I would have met the amazing musicians and played at the amazing places that I have without them. SBMC has given me so many opportunities to do what I love, and for that, I couldn’t be more grateful!
We love South Bay Music Connection! A couple years ago, my daughter, Claire, who loves and lives to sing was looking for local places to perform. Because she’s young, we found that there were not many opportunities available to her. Our friend Ella G., a talented singer/songwriter thankfully connected us with SBMC and we are so grateful. Since that introduction a couple of years ago, Claire has performed many times with SBMC. The directors of SBMC are incredibly kind and hardworking and have a passion for supporting young, talented artists. They saw the need to share these artists with the public and gave them a way to do that. In addition to performing through sbmconnect, Claire has made many connections SBMC other musicians and people with similar passions. It’s been an amazing experience working with SBMC and we are so grateful for the support and opportunity. We highly recommend SBMC to any young musician interested in performing.
South Bay Music Connection (SBMC) has been a musical partner with the Hermosa Beach Chamber and resident community for several years now. Without a doubt, they are the most organized and amazing musical organization we have hired, worked-with, and supported. The talent is through the roof and being a nonprofit focused on youth and music helps our community of businesses know they are supporting a good cause while also hiring amazing performances.
